Jammer Christmas Dinner.

The Jammer dinner was a exhilirating night. There was a lot of people of course. We had to walk up the stairs because not everyone would fit in the elevator. While I was there I talked to the people that were in my table and the sponsor who was going to give us our present. As time pass, the sponsor started letting people go eat by table because it was crouded in there. The food was good, they had pasta, salad, chicken, and different sauces for the pasta. After we all ate we were told to go down stairs for the hay ride. The hay ride went around a track that had lots of different holiday lights. After the hay ride we went to go drink hot sweet chocolate with marshmallows in it. After everyone was done drinking their hot chocolate we all went upstairs again to go open our present. When I open my present was thankful for the stuff I got, I told my sponsor thank you for the gifts.

CW: "Lamb to the Slaughter" Irony Paragraph Week 16 12/13

In "Lamb to the Slaughter," Roald Dahl uses irony to make the story realistic. For example, while the detectives are eating the leg of lamb one says, "Probably right under our very nose. What you think, Jack?" and in the other room, Mary Maloney began to giggle (p.324 ). The readers knows that the detectives are eating the evidence, which is why Mary giggles. Since the readers know and the characters do not, this is dramatic irony. In this situation, the readers feel like yelling at the detectives because the evidence is "right under our very noses." In addition, the cashier ask if she wanted to buy meat but she said "No, I've got meat thanks. I got a nice piece of lamb, from the freezer." It's ironic because the lamb isn't in the freezer like she says. In fact it has already been used as a murder weapon instead of food. This surprises the reader because Mary is able to think of an alibi immediately after she murdered her husband.

Brian Ambiguity Paragraph

In "Notes from a Bottle," James Stevenson's use of ambiguity engages the reader. For example, in the second note the narrator said, "The children, as usual, are riding bicycles up and down the hall, as adults - bundled up in all manner of clothing, and carrying drinks and candles - roaming the building going from one party to another." This shows that maybe they think they are going to die and they want to have a good last few hours. This also shows that It is engaging because the readers want to know what is going to happen and why they are partying. In addition, in the third note the narrator said, "There has been constant speculation on the cause of the flood - an atomic test is a popular explanation - but no one has any information at all, and no one really expects any." This shows that there could have been multiple meanings as to why the flood happened. This also shows that the readers want to know what happened so that is why the story is so engaging and it causes the readers to pay attention. In conclusion, the story “Notes from a Bottle” is engaging because it has ambiguity and keeps you interested.

The pressure of teen sports has not gone too far.
For example, Players ask for more because they want to make it pro and be the best.
This shows that coaches aren't pressuring teens in sports.
This also shows that after a while they will CONSTRUCT into a good player.
In addition, if you ask a pro how hard did they work for to get there and they will say they worked hard

After playing a lot of games they Derive different things from the game, some gcould be bad but most can be good.

Policy

One policy I wish I could change is to get more money for clothes. Currently this policy states you only get $100 for spending on clothes. $100 is not enough money to buy clothes especially when they take you to expensive clothes store. Store these days are expensive. If this policy was change u would be able to get more clothes. Another reason is people need more clothe and a $100 is not enough. If it was change people would be more happy and wouldn't ask to go clothing shopping every month

Academic launguage week 25

Adults shoul have the right to carry a concealed handgun. They should be able to because there is dangerous people out there that have guns. They should ESTABLISH a rule that everyone Gould have a gun because it could cause less robberies and deaths. You can INDICATE that carrying a handgun is safe because there is people that may not have legs or have problems which they can't defend them self. Also you could JUSTIFY that if a lady had a gun and he was being rob by three men she could protect herself. That's why I think carrying a handgun can be good

The situation would not ESTAbLISH anything, there would be nothing but gore and more and more violence. You don't use handguns to JUSTIFY what's right. Guns are used for other to indicate and tell people to stand there ground. And therefor guns should mot be held by any adults without a reasons to.

Technology in school

Teachers using technology help me learn. Technology helps a lot of people and it can help students. If you are in class and you forgot what homework was you can go on the Internet and go to the teachers blog and look what homework was. This helps a lot because sometimes I have appointments and by having the homework online is easy because I can do it on my phone or any computer. Also my teacher can help me on my homework by me emailing her which is a good thing. Using technology is good because it saves money because you won't have to buy pencils, backpacks, or any school supply. it is difficult for some people to use a computer but bats okay because there is classes for that. What if a teacher has a big class and can't see what everyone is doing? That's okay because teachers can actually see what you are doing and take control of the computer. The best thing that technology helps me with is that I came do my work anywhere.

Academic language week 24

Online learning is a effective way of learning. Taking classes online is good because you pay more attention. It is easy to access a computer for most people so it's good for people that travel around the world or places. Taking classes on the computer helps you because there isn't anyone bothering you. Also you get to work on your own pace. Some students like to work in an AREA where is quiet. Also if a student had a question they can email there teacher an can CLARIFY them the problem. The DIFFERENTIATIONS between online learning and public school is that online you have a better chance of leaning because you go on your pace and there isn't no distractions. Also you can do the work when you have the time so if you have a job you can do your homework after you are done doing whatever you had to do.

Should dog fights be illegal?

Dog fights should be illegal. They should be illegal because it is cruel to dogs to have them fight to the death just for money. The dogs have more potanchol then fighting each other. The Formula for the way dogs were triend is by showing them how to fight for blood. There is a distend difference between showing dog love and killing them for money. I have a strong passen for dogs so I strongly believ that dog fight should be illegal.

Buffet: Offers More Than You Think

Breakfast and lunch should be served as a buffet to serve various dietary needs.
At San Pasqual in the cafe, they serve the same food every week. A lot of people don’t like the food that is being serve to them. By setting up breakfast and lunch buffet-style, it gives more options for students to eat what they want. It would also offer them more opportunities to eat healthy.
I think by have a buffet it gives more option for kids to choose from. The food is limited and repetitious every week. But if there is a buffet it gives multiple choices for people who are dieting or who have allergy's.Many people say that it will give kids too many choices and can cause overweight issues. Will if there is a buffet and instead of people making their plates it will be serve to them and there would be a limit to the food you can get.Kids will get the vitamins they need everyday. Also it would help kids eat healthy. Adult always say to eat breakfast so they can concentrate in school and by having different variety of foods it will make kids eat and will be able to concentrate in school.
The build will be serve to kids so they can still eat right and be healthy. By doing this it will keep them safe from health issues. Most food that is serve in the cafe is non vegetarian eater and it is not fair. Some people are allergic to some foods and their only option is to eat salads or something that they are not allergic too. A buffet can give multiple choices for any type of dietary needs. People might say that there isn’t many vegetarians. That can be true but there is a lot of people that have allergies. Kids could be starving during school because they couldn’t eat lunch either because they were allergic or are vegetarian. A buffet could be a very good thing in schools. It can increase kids to learn more if they are eating right and treating them all the same.
Peoples favorite food can change their emotions. If you're having a bad day and lets say that potato's make you happy and when you go to lunch they are serving them and can change your whole day around. Also having different foods can encourage kids to try new foods so they don’t always eat the same thing. Not everyone has favorite food and might not change someones day but kids could try new food maybe they haven’t Eaton before. By trying different foods it can encourage them to maybe one day become a chief.
Lets say you woke up late. You run outside and you see the bus leaving already now you have to walk to school. When you arrive you remember you left your backpack at home. Out of all these things you forgot, you went to sleep late so you”re tired. You're in class and can’t keep your eyes open then its lunch time and you see some fruit salad. You a bowl of fruit salad and the sweet taste of the fruit gives you some boost and you end up finishing the day. Some food can give some energy to kids thers it can help them feel more relax or even calmer.
Foods can or have some power or taste that can make you happy or give you energy.
Having buffets in schools can help more than you think. It satisfies kids’ appetites, classes, or even emotions. Also it treats everyone in school fair by having food for those who have different dietary needs. It also can help kids’ health. By allowing buffet style serving in cafeterias, it will a tremendous difference in students’ happiness and lives.

Thanksgiving Dinner

First-Person Narration from Brian’s Point of View
I had a very good thanksgiving. I went with my mentor to his sister house. When we got there, there was a big wooden door and my mentor open it and there was a water fountain and a fire place. When we enter there was a big flat screen t.v. and I couldn’t believe how big the house was. My mentor introduce me to everyone in his family. I was nervous because I didn’t know anyone it felt weird. After that they offered me something to drink and I said “yes”. When the food was ready we sat and a big table with big chairs like the ones in movies. We prayed and then we ate. I ate two plates and I was done. After that we ate desert. Then I watch the game and then left.
Third-Person Narration Focused on Mike
At the Jammer dinner Mike was taking pictures with Brandon. Marcos was hanging out with Bella. Jammer was walking around being shy. everyone was walking, laughing, and drinking soda. There was a man giving a speech about his live and what he did . Lots of people were interesting of what he was saying. After a while you could notice people were getting bored so he finished talking and then the dance group came out. People were cheering for the dancers. Everyone had a good time people went to sleep in the bus and went to bed late. Some people ate too much and got sick.
Narrator Expository Paragraph
A narrator can influence how much a reader understands how a character is feeling. For example in first person point of view you are the main character and you know the thoughts and feelings about the character. Third person limited point of view is where you know the thoughts and feelings about all the characters, you see what they see. The difference between them are, first person point of view is only one character and that the main one and knows his/her thoughts and feelings. Third person limited is where you know everything about all the characters in the book/movies. The third person limited is more credible because you know what every character thinks and might end up doing. Many readers enjoy reading stories written in first person point of view because it gives them more of a one on one experience with the character and makes them feel like they are in the story. I personally like first person better than third person limited.

Cyberbullying Perspectives

I saw you today bullying Juan ''the target", it wasn't cool to bully him like that Pedro "offender." You shouldn't Juan he didn't do anything to you. Cyberbullying can cause fatal injuries or possibly death. Pedro you should treat people the way you want to be treated. Go apologize to Juan and erase the hurtful things you said about him on the internet.
