JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 39 - School year

Students should not have a longer school year. According to Debate, "
Students have a natural tendency of losing interest or steam when studying for a certain period of time" (source link). This shows that you can't extend school longer because kids will end up not wanting to go to school. This also shows that the kids will be overworked. According to Yahoo, "Not only does cutting summer have effects on the brain, it also has economic consequences" (source link). This shows that we would need more money for all schools to have a longer year. This also shows that taxes will go up. In conclusion, students should not have a longer school year.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 31 - Vandalism

Parents should be accountable for their child's damage. For example, in the teens mind, they need to ACHIEVE whatever they want to destroy. This shows that they don't know how to control their self. This also shows that it parents should give their child SPECIFIC disciplines so that way they know what to do. In addition, when parents try to teach things on the COMPUTER about how they're lives will be in the future. This shows that he teens would probably not listen. This also shows that parents need to be more strict on their kids. In conclusion, parents should take the consequences for their child's damage.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 30 - "D" Grades

Schools should eliminate "D" grades.
According to New York Time, "It’s a throwaway grade. No one wants to hire a D-anything, so why would we have D-students and give them credit for it" (source link).
This shows that student's should start working harder because no one in life wants to hired employees who only got D's.
This also shows that students don't have to work hard like some other students and get they get credit for it.
According to Mount Olive, "Students in one New Jersey school district will have to work harder to pass." (source link).
This shows that a lot of teens now don't have parents that push them to do better, so by this the school is making them work harder
This also shows that students will be worrying about their grades which will give them less time to do bad things
In conclusion, schools should eliminate "D" grades.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 29 - School Conferences

Parents should face jail time for missing their child's school conferences . According to CNN, "It's child abuse when your child is failing in school and you're not involved, because you are strapping that child to a life of poverty," (source link). This shows that Kym Worthy, the prosecutor thinks that it it child abuse for not responding when your child is failing school. This also shows that if indeed the parent never goes to his or hers meetings and the child fails, and ends up homeless, the parent is to be blamed. According to Examiner.com, "Kim Worthy says she is not interested in putting parents in jail if their children are high achievers." (source link). This shows that in the bright side, if the parents do miss but the students is academically doing good, they might be no consequences for the parent. This also shows that if the parent also has health issue they can be excused. In conclusion, parents should face jail time for missing their child's school conferences.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 27 - Drug Sniffing Dogs

I agree with official using drug-sniffing dogs .
According to NBC, Kultgen says, "I just believe again, that it's a good tool for keeping our kids safe and keeping that off our campus and a good deterrent as we move to educate our kids."(source link).
This shows that it can help kids stay away from drugs.
This also shows that students won't do drugs in school because of the sniffing dog.
According to Watchdogs.org, "In the ruling, Judge Diana Murphy said the searches were conducted in accordance with school policy and did not undermine a reasonable expectation to privacy on the part of the students." (source link).
This shows that if a teacher ASSUME a student is under the influence they have the right to search their locker.
This also shows that if a student is being search they can not RESPOND with resistance.
In conclusion, there is a PROCESS before getting drug sniffing-dogs in school.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 25 - Concealed Carry

Adults should have the right to carry a concealed gun.
According to Fact Check, "Since 1995 when conceal carry pass in this state, violent crime has gone down by 30 percent." (source link).
This shows that by carrying a gun in the state of North Carolina crime is decreasing.
This also shows that. by ESTABLISHING this law it has change their state
According to Conceal gun pro con, "Proponents of concealed carry say that criminals are less likely to attack someone they believe to be armed." (source link).
This INDICATE that conceal law is working
This also shows that. the law is JUSTIFY.
In conclusion, carrying a gun should be legal because it is safer for yourself.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 24 - Online Learning

 Online learning is an effective way of learning more than going to a class room. According to iNACOL, "The types of online courses with the highest enrollments in school districts are credit recovery and dual-credit" (source link). This shows that online learning is a great way of making up missing credits. This also shows that students that have DIFFERENTIATED learning styles can learn in a way better for them. According to Online Learning facts, "Online learning uses computers and other technology for teaching and communication." (source link). This shows that online learning can be used in any subject AREA. This also shows that online learning is good for students who do not do will in a traditional class room setting. In conclusion, online learning is the future of education because it provides students a way to work on their own paste and CLARIFY what they are learning.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 23 - Dog Fighting

Dog fighting should be illegal. For example, dogs are used to help people that are disable or need special needs. This shows that dogs POTENTIAL is being wasted by making dogs kill each other. This also shows that dogs are being use in a negative way and not a positive way. In addition, dogs can't physically speak for themselves. This shows that there is DISTINCT difference between human and dog language barriers. This also shows that the only FORMULA for fixing the problem is to eradicate dog fighting for good. In conclusion, dog fighting is illegal and there should be severe punishment for engaging in dog fighting. Dogs are a human best friend and are use in the army, police station, helping people with disabilities, and as house pets to protect their owners. Dogs cannot speak for themselves but people should take time and try to comprehend their dogs emotion

Felons should not be allowed to vote. For example, Felons do not have enough resources about what's going on in society. This shows that they are not up to date on current events. This also shows that if they get to vote they pretty much would be guessing because it is a COMPLEX decision for them because they were locked up. In addition, felons shouldn't be allowed to vote because they committed a felony and shouldn't be trusted. This shows that they can't be trusted with a vote because people like sex predators don't follow their rules and break them sometimes. This also shows that because of all the time they were locked up their vote wouldn't be as RELEVANT as other people. In conclusion, felons should not be allowed to vote because they committed a felony and should not be trusted.

Performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids,should not be allowed in sports. For example, taking steroids is making it unfair to other players that play sports. In addition, in all sports there is a TRADITION of not using drugs. Also, by doing these drugs it's hurting your body and actually weakening it too. JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 20

Students should receive a failing grade for plagiarizing. For example, all published documents have copy right. This means that any DOCUMENT that is or are plagiarized, the author has the right to sew the student. This also shows that the teacher has the right to lower their ACADEMIC grade because they didn't do any work. In addition, there is a MAXIMUM number of words that the students can copy and not get in trouble for it, and that is if they put their reference. In conclusion, Students should receive a failing grade for plagiarizing.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 18

The benefits of importing Chinese goods do outweigh the consequences.
For example, it creates jobs for the Chinese.
This shows that it's creating jobs for those who need it.
This also shows that by having these jobs it is helping the economy.
In addition,  importing goods being made in china is helping the United States.
This shows that the USA doesn't have that much pollution.
This also shows that we have more free space because there isn't many companies which helps them because there won't be that much competition
In conclusion,  the benefits  of importing Chinese goods do outweigh the consequences.

Academic Language Assessment Week 19

The United States should help countries like Haiti and Japan recover after a disaster. For example, the U.S has more connections around the world and can be more capable to help other countries with disasters. This shows that sense our REGION has more people all over the country, there is more people who can help with the disasters and to raise money. This also shows that, all of our country's people are kind and caring people who help others. In addition, if they were to SURVEY people all over the country, many of them would agree to help. In addition, many other countries tried to help the U.S when we went through hurricanes, they INVESTED time and money to help us. Even if it wasn't that much money, it was still helping. In conclusion the United States should help other countries like Haiti and Japan recover after disaster.
